The scoop: Already a star on the football field, Wilson made sure people remembered his basketball exploits with a huge senior season for the Spartans. He averaged 17.0 points per game in the regular season and led Montour to a WPIAL Class AAA championship, where he helped his team rally from a second-half deficit with 19 points and seven rebounds.

College talk: Interest in Wilson has increased over the past few months. He visited George Mason Thursday and also is expected to make visits to Western Michigan, Saint Joseph's and Virginia Tech.

What was your most memorable moment from the season? "Probably winning the WPIAL championship with all of my seniors."

What's an aspect of your game you'd like to improve upon? "My all-around shooting. I'd like to get my shot a lot better."

People might be surprised to know... "I'm a 'sneaker-head.' I've got at least 20 different pairs of sneakers, all different kinds of types. I love them."

Where do you see yourself in 10 years? "Hopefully in the NBA, but if not, I'd like to be a lawyer."

RYAN LUTHER, HAMPTON
Height: 6-8 • Forward • Junior

The scoop: Luther was among the top scorers in the WPIAL this season, averaging 21.3 points per game in the regular season while providing an imposing presence down low. With Luther leading the way, the Talbots finished 22-6 and made it to the WPIAL Class AAAA championship game, where he scored 17 points and pulled down nine rebounds.

College talk: Just a junior, Luther said he's just getting used to the recruiting process, acknowledging that "it's a little hectic." He has an offer from Dayton and has drawn interest from Duquesne and Akron, among others.

What was your most memorable moment from the season? "We had a buzzer-beater against Mars to win in the regular season and also our playoff run up until Palumbo."

What's an aspect of your game you'd like to improve upon? "Definitely my ball-handling ability and my pull-up jumper."

People might be surprised to know... "My cousin is Mike Shanahan, who played [wide receiver] for Pitt."

Your all-time favorite movie? "Probably 'The Shawshank Redemption.'"

Your favorite subject in school? "Probably English or history."

Where do you see yourself in 10 years? "Hopefully out of college with a good education and a good job, hopefully coaching basketball or some sport."

Who's your pick to win the NCAA tournament? "I think Indiana's going to win it."

Best athlete you've ever faced? "Probably [former Highlands standout] Micah Mason."

MALIK HOOKER, NEW CASTLE
Height: 6-2 • Guard/Forward • Junior

The scoop: Hooker was an instrumental force on a talented Red Hurricanes roster. He averaged 17.5 points per game in the regular season and, perhaps most memorably, he made highlight reels nationally with a dunk against Lower Merion in the PIAA semifinals that made the Top 10 on 'SportsCenter.'

College talk: Hooker, too, is just a junior, so it's still early in the recruiting process. He said that he hopes to get looks from college coaches in the next few weeks, much in the same way it went for him in football where he is a dynamic wide receiver.

What was your most memorable moment from the season? "Probably winning the WPIAL back-to-back with the people I grew up with. I've been playing with Shawn [Anderson], Brandon [Domenick], Antonio [Rudolph], Anthony [Richards] and them since I was in about fourth grade."

What's an aspect of your game you'd like to improve upon? "I want to hopefully improve my jump shot. Coming off screens and pulling the jump shot -- that's a lot of what I'll be working on this summer."

Your all-time favorite movie? "Antwone Fisher."

Your favorite subject in school? "History."

Favorite athlete? "LeBron James."

Where do you see yourself in 10 years? "After it's all said and done, I want to be able to come back and help where I came from -- give back to what everybody's done for me where I came from."

SHAWN ANDERSON, NEW CASTLE
Height: 6-3 • Guard/Forward • Senior

The scoop: At the forefront of the Red Hurricanes' undefeated regular season and WPIAL Class AAAA championship was Anderson, who averaged a team-high 20 points per game in the regular season. In the WPIAL title game, Anderson led a balanced New Castle offense with 16 points.

College talk: Anderson will attend the Naval Academy Prepatory School in Rhode Island for one season before playing his college basketball at the United States Naval Academy.

What's an aspect of your game you'd like to improve upon? "My jump shot."

People might be surprised to know ... "I love to write. It helps ease my mind a little bit and put things out on paper."

Your all-time favorite movie? "Finding Nemo."

Your favorite subject in school? "English. My junior year, I started to fall in love with the literature we were reading -- poetry and different international books."

Where do you see yourself in 10 years? "Hopefully at a successful job, traveling the world, at some point coming back to New Castle and helping out with the youth."

Favorite athlete? "Dwyane Wade."

Who's your pick to win the NCAA tournament? "I had Miami, but after looking a little bit, I think I'm jumping on the bandwagon and going with Florida Gulf Coast."

Best athlete you've ever faced? "My older sister, Trina Nixon. By far the best basketball player I've ever played against."

ELIJAH COTTRILL, BEAVER FALLS
Height: 6-3 • Guard • Junior

The scoop: The Tigers turned the Class AA titles in the WPIAL and PIAA into something of a coronation, and no player likely had a bigger impact than Cottrill. He averaged a team-high 16.3 points per game in the regular season, helping Beaver Falls win its final 18 games, a run capped by a victory in the PIAA championship (a game in which he scored 12 points).

College talk: Like others on this list, Cottrill is just a junior, but he said he's been getting recruited by Seton Hall, West Virginia, Marquette, Villanova and Duquesne.

What was your most memorable moment from the season? "When the final buzzer sounded at states."

What's an aspect of your game you'd like to improve upon? "My shooting."

People might be surprised to know... "I like slow music."

Your all-time favorite movie? "Ted."

Your favorite subject in school? "Math."

Where do you see yourself in 10 years? "Hopefully in the NBA or overseas, but if not, hopefully a physical therapist or something like that."
