Player of the Year

Abe Kouyate, Obama Academy: Kouyate, a senior forward, was a four-year starter at Obama, and the team played in the WPIAL three of those years. He helped Obama to a 9-8 record this year in Class AA. He had 23 goals and 14 assists. He scored 88 career goals.

The Rest

Michael Cummings, West Allegheny -- Cummings finished his career with 53 goals, with more than half this season. Cummings had 27 goals and 12 assists for the WPIAL runner-up.

Doug Hapeman, Upper St. Clair -- A senior, Hapeman was one of the top defenders in the WPIAL. Anchored defense that allowed only 28 goals in 22 games. He also scored eight goals.

Galen Kreutzberger, Penn-Trafford -- A four-year starter, this senior forward had 23 goals and nine assists this season and helped the Warriors to a 12-3-1 record.

Josh Kruczek, Canon-McMillan -- A four-year starter who is a well-rounded player. A senior midfielder, he had six goals and eight assists and will play next season at Lafayette.

Nicco Mastrangelo, Peters Township -- Teamed with twin brother to make excellent one-two punch for PIAA Class AAA champion. Mastrangelo, a senior forward, had 23 goals and 16 assists and scored six goals in the postseason.

Mario Mastrangelo, Peters Township -- Twin brother of Nicco. Had 25 goals and 14 assists this season and scored the winner in the PIAA Class AAA championship.

Nick McKee, South Fayette -- McKee, a senior, moved from defense to midfield this year and had 13 goals and 10 assists for a team that went 18-5-1.

Robbie Mertz, Upper St. Clair -- Mertz is a senior midfielder who will play next season at Michigan. A three-year starter and two-time all-state selection, Mertz had 13 goals and 26 assists for the WPIAL Class AAA runner-up.

Justin Minda, South Park -- Minda led the WPIAL in scoring the past two seasons. A senior forward, he had 40 goals this season and is the school's all-time leading scorer with 112 career goals.

Jake Roberge, Franklin Regional -- A four-year starter who will play next season at Northwestern. Played a number of positions in career and had 13 goals and 10 assists this year.

Brandon Walbert, South Park -- A four-year starter who will play next season at Duquesne. Had 18 goals and 19 assists this year for WPIAL Class AA champion. A three-time all-state selection.
