Riverside junior Skyler Fox became only the third player in WPIAL history in any classification to win three WPIAL boys golf titles. Ron Schwartzel of Brentwood was the first to accomplish the feat when he did it from 1952-54. The most recent was Frank Fuhrer III of Fox Chapel in 1974-76. "It’s hard to believe I did that," said Fox, after winning a third consecutive WPIAL Class 2A title at the Sept. 27 championships. "It’s unreal. I’m sure it will hit me tomorrow, but right now it’s just another round of golf." Eight others have won two WPIAL boys titles. Below is the complete list of champs who have won multiple titles. The WPIAL Boys Class 3A Tournament is today (Oct. 2) at Oakmont County Club. The WPIAL Girls Class 3A and 2A championships will be held Wednesday (Oct. 3) at Diamond Run Golf Club in Sewickley. Eleven girls have won multiple titles, including Hopewell's Jodi Figley, who is the only four-time WPIAL champion (1983-86). Greensburg Central Catholic's Staci Aber won three WPIAL titles (1988, 1990-91). North Allegheny's Caroline Wrigley became the second to win three WPIAL titles at this year's Class 3A Tournament.
