WPIAL Cross Country Championships - Multiple Titles Update

I recently received cross country results from historian Art Hindle that allowed me to complete my list of WPIAL and PIAA cross country champions, both individual and team. These results were originally compiled by WPIAL historians Chuck Hemphill and Don Mollenauer, who have since passed away. My thanks to Art, Chuck, and Don for their research. I will be posting more of their past results in the upcoming months.

With a complete list of champions, I updated my lists of boys and girls athletes who have won two or more WPIAL titles. Those individuals are listed below. The most recent additions to the list are Oakland Catholic's Hannah Schupansky and Quaker Valley's Annie Wicker, who both won their second title during the 2018 season.

The WPIAL began sponsoring girls championships in 1974. Since then, there have been 20 girls who have won at least two titles. Latrobe's Natalie Bower (2005-08) and Vincentian's Marianne Abdalah (2013-2016) are the only four-time champs in WPIAL history.

The WPIAL boys championships began in 1935. Since then, there have been only 18 boys who have won at least two titles. Quaker Valley's Zach Skolnekovich (2014-16) is the only three-time champion.
